Cookies Policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies CanGerard uses, and the choices you have over them.
Effective date: 24 May 2026
Preliminary policy — pending a final review by our data-protection counsel.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by the websites you visit. They allow a site to remember your preferences and actions between pages — such as keeping you signed in or remembering your chosen language.
2. Why CanGerard uses cookies
We use cookies to keep your session secure, remember your language and region, keep your cart between visits, and prevent fraud. To understand how the site is used we rely on privacy-friendly analytics that are cookieless and store nothing on your device.
3. Categories we use
Strictly necessary (session, security, language/cart persistence) — always on. Functional (display preferences) — always on. For aggregate usage statistics we use cookieless analytics that set no cookies and store no data on your device. We do not set advertising cookies.
4. Third parties
Some functionality relies on third parties that may set their own cookies on the pages where they appear, for example Stripe on the payment step (fraud detection) and Supabase for hosted authentication. Aggregate usage measurement is provided by Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless. Their policies apply alongside ours.
5. Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies will stop the site from working as expected (you won't be able to sign in or check out). Our usage analytics is cookieless and collects no personal data, so there is nothing to switch on or off.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our use of cookies evolves. The effective date above always reflects the latest version.
