"El Pacient" Rancio Wine - Grenache Noir

Our rancio wine with its own solera, built from scratch over 15 years ago at our winery. Using La Figuera's traditional oxidation system through natural temperature contrast, we place the half-full French oak barrels under the roof, at the highest point of the Winery, where the warm summer temperatures of +35°C and the cold winter temperatures of 0-5°C help oxidize it with very special nuances.

• Varieties 🍇: Grenache Noir
• Vineyard: Estate-owned, +25-year-old vines in La Figuera, Priorat. Clay and limestone soils.
• Harvest: Late September 2004. Hand-picked, in crates under 20 kg.
• Bottled and made: At our family Winery in La Figuera, with natural Catalan cork.
• Alcohol content: 24% vol.
• We are not part of any D.O. (Denomination of Origin). We belong to the independent collective Vinyataires Lliures.

What the name means: "El Pacient" ("The Patient One") — our Rancio Wine, oxidative through and through. Built from scratch, with no mother solera to draw on, with full confidence in its success despite the difficulty of the 20-year wait. Patience, and life itself, have shaped it.
